WelcomeHello, I'm Chris Strode, teacher of the Arts. I have been teaching students in private schools and home school environments for over two decades.My approach whether working with students in groups or individuals in a private or semi private setting stand the same. Emphasizing the structure of the foundational building blocks in Fine Arts and the Written Word. thus equipping, empowering , and encouraging the unlocking of ones unique creative style. Experimentation in multiple mediums within a non judgemental environment is fostered in all sessions.

Sessions run for 4wks
"Wildlife and Landscapes"
Locations - Oceanside area
Students will be introduced to varying mediums.Sketching subjects in charcoal, watercolor
ink markers, etc.
Onsite works with final composition in selected medium.Group and Private ClassesRun for either 6 or 8 weeks with an introduction to basic composition structure,sketching, color theory, and balance.

Writing
Dependent on age/ grade, students will develop the basic foundational skills in the four core mode writing styles (Narrative,Descriptive,Expository, Persuasive) while also expanding their vocabulary all which is beneficial in becoming a strong communicator. During each class time will be spent on students reviewing the recent assignment, the introduction of a new assignment, as well as participating in creative games, contests, and challenges all of which re-enforce learned materials.* See list of Core Curriculum* IEW _"Institute for excellence in Writing" (multiple books age based)

Extended Bio2026- Present Contracted artist for paint events at “Front Porch Gallery” in Carlsbad,
Hired for private party events leading the guests through a chosen themed painting.2025- December Taught after school art classes, at “The Cove” Classes were grouped by age/ability.
Students were Introduced to design concepts, tools, and safety elements allowing them to work in multiple mediums. Projects consisted of working withmosaic tiles, lino block prints, and acrylic paints.

Managing as many as twenty artists with regards to the curating of artwork,

I designed an IEP for student in which I taught her for 2 school years, covering grade levels 4, 5, 6.
Instruction was for 3hrs. daily, 5 days a week.2016 Tutored 3 months preparing a student for her for HS exit exam and SAT testing.2015- 2018 Instructor for Painting Events- “Paint N Enjoy” Held weekly sessions two and a half hour long, providing instruction and materials for participants to create a painting.
I handled all aspects personally, promotion, instruction, as well as securing a venue.2010-2012 Taught as a contracted teacher at Rancho Encinitas Academy. Taught Art and ran Physical Education Program for all classes Kindergarten through Eighth grade.2003 Taught as a contracted teacher Edison Academy in Encinitas. Hands on Science experiments in which regular teacher would do follow up work with. I worked with grades 3, 4, 5, 61995-2015 Taught varying subjects over the span of years at Heritage Christian School “Class Days” in
San Diego. Classes met bi weekly through the school year. Here I taught Science, Biology HS, Anatomy HS. Also varying levels of Lit. and Writing classes.
